**Job Title: Quality Technician** **Job Description** The Quality Technician supports the quality assurance program by performing detailed inspections, verifying product conformance, and contributing to continuous improvement within machine shop and assembly operations. This role works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure that all products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and internal quality standards. **Responsibilities** + Perform in-process and final inspections on parts and assemblies to verify conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. + Read and interpret blueprints to determine critical dimensions, tolerances, and inspection criteria for machined and assembled components. + Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, and other gauges to inspect parts accurately. + Operate or assist with the operation of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to perform dimensional inspections when required. + Document inspection results clearly and accurately, including recording measurements, nonconformances, and any deviations from specifications. + Communicate inspection findings to production, engineering, and quality personnel to address issues and support timely corrective actions. + Assist in quality improvement activities by identifying recurring issues, contributing to root cause analysis, and supporting corrective and preventive actions. + Verify that products and processes comply with internal quality standards and applicable customer or regulatory requirements. + Support first article inspections by reviewing drawings, collecting measurement data, and confirming that initial production runs meet all requirements, when needed. + Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts, when applicable, to evaluate part features and ensure compliance with design intent. + Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and handle measuring equipment with care to ensure accuracy and reliability. + Collaborate with colleagues across machine shop and assembly operations to promote a strong quality culture and continuous improvement mindset. **Essential Skills** + Previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing setting. + At least 6+ months of hands-on quality inspection experience using micrometers, calipers, and related precision measuring tools. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings accurately. + Experience performing quality inspection in manufacturing for 2+ years is preferred. + Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, and other gauges to perform dimensional inspections. + Familiarity with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) for dimensional verification. + Strong attention to detail and ability to identify nonconformances and deviations from specifications. + Ability to document inspection results clearly and communicate findings to cross-functional teams. + Comfort working in a machine shop and assembly manufacturing environment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience performing first article inspections. + Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). + Previous exposure to continuous improvement or quality improvement activities. + Ability to collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and quality personnel. + Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to support root cause analysis and corrective actions. **Why Work Here?** You will join a small, close-knit, family-oriented organization that values its employees and maintains a supportive, hands-on culture. You will work around machining and assembly equipment while performing inspections using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, gauges, and CMMs. The environment supports focused, detail-oriented work and encourages collaboration with colleagues across production, engineering, and quality functions. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Long Lake, MN. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
