Job Description
Job Title: Quality EngineerJob Description The Quality Engineer supports daily quality assurance activities, analyzes production data to drive continuous improvement, and refines methods to enhance overall performance. This position develops effective testing, sampling, and training procedures to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards. The Quality Engineer also conducts audits, prepares reports, and drives corrective and preventative actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence. Responsibilities + Comply with all BOS, ISO/TS, and customer-specific requirements. + Understand plant/customer KPIs and work with the team to meet and exceed them. + Participate as a Layered Process Auditor if instructed by the manager. + Ensure continuous improvement in all production quality deliverables. + Provide support on PPAP package preparation for product submissions and approval by appropriate customer personnel. + Develop and update Control Plan as required. + Support the manufacturing engineer in updating the PFMEA as required. + Develop appropriate inspection plans and containment plans. + Utilize all customer-specific systems. + Conduct capability studies and ensure they are performed and documented for special characteristics, meeting customer and internal requirements. + Support the continuous improvement of the Operation Description Sheets (ODS). + Identify and utilize appropriate statistical tools, mentoring team members on proper statistical application and techniques. + Interface with assigned external customers as the single point of contact for issue resolution. + Complete any customer-specific advanced quality planning requirements. + Write and submit 8-Ds to the customer in a timely manner. + Visit the customer as needed. + Communicate between the customer and the plant. + Initiate Quality Alerts when concerns arise and follow the alert until it is closed. + Confirm all customer return material analysis root cause and corrective actions. Essential Skills + 2+ years of quality engineering experience within the automotive industry. + Experience with PPAP and APQP requirements. + Internal auditing experience. + Customer interaction experience. + Experience managing suppliers. + Experience in training others. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with root cause analysis. + Knowledge of automotive industry standards. Work Environment This position will be working out of the Greenfield, OH plant, which employs about 250 people over three shifts. This role is a first-shift position. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $39.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
