Job Responsibilities of a Data Center Technician
:Hardware Installation & Maintenanc
- eInstall, configure, and maintain servers, storage systems, and network device
- sPerform hardware diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and replacement
- sRack, stack, and cable data center equipment as per standard
sNetwork Suppor
- tSupport setup and maintenance of network infrastructure (switches, routers, patch panels
- )Troubleshoot hardware-level connectivity issues (LAN/WAN, cabling, ports
- )Coordinate with network teams for upgrades and change
sSystems Monitoring & Troubleshootin
- gConduct site inspections and regular walkthrough
- sMonitor system health and performance using tool
- sRespond to outages, alarms, and hardware failure
- sPerform root cause analysis and document resolution
sPower & Cooling Managemen
- tMonitor power infrastructure (UPS, PDUs, generators
- )Support HVAC systems and ensure proper coolin
- gMaintain environmental standards (temperature, humidity
)Security & Complianc
- eEnforce physical security and access protocol
- sEnsure compliance with audits and policie
- sMaintain logs and documentatio
nDocumentation & Inventor
- yTrack hardware inventory, cabling, and configuration
- sMaintain SOPs and incident record
- sManage spare parts and coordinate procuremen
tCollaboration & Suppor
- tWork with internal teams and vendor
- sSupport deployments, migrations, and expansion
- sHandle vendor coordination for repairs (RMA
)Upgrades & Optimizatio
- nParticipate in system upgrades and performance improvement
- sSupport infrastructure migration and decommissionin
gOn-Call & Emergency Suppor
- tBe available for on-call suppor
- tAssist in disaster recovery planning and executio
