New Grad Engineering Support

Now Hiring: Engineering Support — CAPEX & Pole Services

We are hiring for a 1-year onsite contract opportunity in Bothell, WA with a major utility company.

This role is a great opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or current junior/senior engineering student who is looking to gain hands-on experience supporting real utility infrastructure and CAPEX projects.

The Engineering Support Contractor will work alongside experienced engineers on active pole services projects involving streetlighting, telecom attachments, wireless and wireline equipment, and pole replacement work. This is not an administrative or shadowing role. The selected candidate will support real project work, learn utility infrastructure processes, and take on assignments that gradually increase in complexity over the course of the contract.

Location: Bothell, WA

Schedule: Fully onsite

Pay: $40/hr

Duration: 1-year contract

Hours: Up to 40 hours/week when school is not in session; 12–20 hours/week during the academic term

Responsibilities:

• Support technical requirements related to structural engineering design for distribution and transmission poles

• Assist with utility pole attachment work involving streetlights, wireless devices, and wireline cables

• Apply CAD/AutoCAD fundamentals to help develop and update design plans

• Review and document customer requirements for pole attachment requests

• Analyze technical requirements and help translate them into actionable make-ready work plans

• Support active infrastructure projects tied to streetlighting, telecom attachments, and pole replacement programs

• Collaborate with engineers, internal teams, and customers to ensure project requirements are clearly documented

• Gain exposure to utility standards, infrastructure planning, and real-world engineering workflows

Qualifications:

• Recent graduate or current junior/senior pursuing engineering or a related field

• Electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, construction management, or related technical backgrounds encouraged to apply

• Foundational knowledge of structural engineering concepts

• CAD/AutoCAD familiarity through coursework, projects, internships, or hands-on experience

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Comfortable working directly with customers and internal engineering teams

• Able to work fully onsite in Bothell, WA

• Flexible availability during the academic year
