About AI Fabrik

AI Fabrik builds an edge inference delivery network for high-performance tokens, with faster time-to-market from grid to tokens. Our mission is to build the inference infrastructure we wished every enterprise already had — close to users, close to the cloud, and extremely resilient for real-time workloads. We are builders, architects, engineers, and researchers with hands-on experience in real-world AI deployment in production, and decades of data center experience that taught us exactly what needs to change.

AI Fabrik was incubated inside Gruve and backed by Mayfield, Xora (Temasek), Acclimate Ventures, Cisco Investments — existing investors from Gruve who followed us into this new chapter. We are deploying five initial production sites, with the first one coming online in July 2026.

About the Role

AI Fabrik is seeking an experienced IT Manager to build and scale our IT function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has previously established IT operations from scratch—selecting and implementing core technology platforms, designing identity and access management processes, developing security and support policies, and creating the operational playbook that enables a high-growth organization to succeed. This hybrid role begins as a hands-on individual contributor position with significant ownership and autonomy, with the opportunity to grow into leading and developing a small IT team as the company scales. You will be responsible for supporting a modern technology environment spanning corporate IT, cloud infrastructure, and specialized AI infrastructure, ensuring employees have secure, reliable, and efficient access to the tools they need to do their best work. The ideal candidate is a builder who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys creating structure where none exists, and is excited by the opportunity to shape the IT foundation of an innovative AI company. Experience supporting GPU/ML infrastructure, colocation facilities, or high-performance computing environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own employee onboarding and offboarding end to end — devices, accounts, access, and lab credentials — so engineers are productive on day one and access is cleanly revoked on exit
  • Provide day-to-day IT support across time zones, fixing, documenting, or automating issues so they don't recur
  • Administer our identity provider / IdP and maintain least-privilege access across our source control platform, hyperscalers, and productivity suite
  • Support and coordinate operations for our colocation-hosted labs — networking gear and CPU/GPU servers — including onsite work when issues require physical presence
  • Run endpoint and device management (MDM, patching, encryption) and establish pragmatic IT security practices that protect the company without slowing engineers down
  • Select and administer the IT toolchain — helpdesk, MDM, asset tracking, automation — appropriate to our size and budget
  • Build documentation and self-service paths so people can solve common problems without waiting on a ticket
  • Define the IT roadmap as we scale, then hire, manage, and mentor IT support staff across both regions

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience building an IT function from scratch — picking the tools, establishing the systems, writing the playbook. This matters more to us than total years of experience
  • Hands-on expertise with the categories of tools we use: an identity provider / IdP, a productivity suite, business messaging, and source control platform administration
  • Working knowledge of hyperscalers (IAM, account structure, access governance) and grounding in physical infrastructure (networking, servers, colocation facilities)
  • A practical, risk-based approach to security, and strong documentation and automation instincts
  • Experience supporting a distributed, multi-time-zone team across the USA and India
  • The temperament to start hands-on and the ambition to grow into a manager — prior experience hiring or leading IT staff is a plus
  • Scripting ability (e.g., Python, Bash); exposure to GPU infrastructure or ML/AI teams is a plus

Salary Range

$160,000 - $200,000 USD + Benefits
