Our Client is seeking an experienced Manager – Purchasing & Supply Chain (Program Lead) to drive sourcing strategy, supplier management, and procurement operations for a critical manufacturing program. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution and team leadership to ensure supply continuity, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Program & Sourcing Management

Act as the primary procurement lead for a large-scale manufacturing program

Develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services

Oversee purchase order execution aligned with plant production requirements

Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure business continuity

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and suppliers to align procurement with project needs

Monitor engineering changes and proactively update sourcing plans to prevent disruptions

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of purchasing specialists

Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to drive continuous improvement

Delegate effectively to balance workload and build team capability

Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment

Systems & Process Implementation

Support implementation and optimization of procurement systems and tools

Participate in system testing, validation, and rollout activities

Develop training materials and SOPs to drive adoption

Enhance procurement processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and visibility

Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management

Support supplier identification, evaluation, and onboarding

Assist in negotiating pricing and contract terms to achieve cost savings

Drive cost optimization initiatives and track savings performance

Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement actions

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements

Maintain accurate documentation and purchasing records

Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, supplier metrics, and risks


What We’re Looking For

Core Capabilities

Strong experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain operations

Proven ability to design and execute sourcing strategies

Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams

Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

Technical Skills

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement tools

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Strong understanding of supplier management and procurement processes


Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field

5+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management

3–5+ years of experience leading teams

Preferred

Professional certifications (e.g., APICS, ISM – CPIM, CPSM)

Experience in manufacturing or advanced technology industries

Experience with system implementation or transformation

Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies

Experience working across global or cross-cultural teams
