Title : Materials Manager
Reports to: Plant Manager
Location: Old Fort, North Carolina
We’re looking for a forward-thinking problem solver and change-maker ready to help take NexForm to the next level. The Materials Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of materials planning, inventory control, production scheduling support, warehousing, shipping/receiving, and supply chain execution to ensure uninterrupted material flow and on-time customer delivery for our Old Fort, NC Facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead materials planning, master production scheduling, and value stream scheduling activities to ensure material availability supports production and customer demand.
- Lead inventory control activities, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reporting to ensure inventory accuracy and financial integrity.
- Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data and planning parameters.
- Lead implementation of the QRMP system and participate in annual audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities to achieve targeted RCR objectives.
- Partner with Purchasing and suppliers to resolve material shortages, improve supplier performance, and address vendor-related issues.
- Analyze material, inventory, and operational data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize working capital.
- Develop and maintain departmental budgets and performance metrics.
- Maintain compliance with all facility, regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Direct warehouse, storage, shipping, and receiving activities to ensure proper handling of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Lead, coach, and develop materials, inventory control, and warehouse personnel.
- Support plant objectives related to inventory accuracy, schedule attainment, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of production planning, scheduling, inventory control, and supply chain experience.
- Strong ERP/MRP systems knowledge and advanced Excel skills.
- Proven leadership experience in warehouse, logistics, or materials functions.
- Experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing, APICS/CPIM, or continuous improvement experience preferred
