Title: Mechanical Process Engineer – Pulp & Paper Background

Location: Appleton, WI

Salary: $135,000–$175,000 DOE + Benefits


Overview

Our client is a growing engineering consulting firm supporting industrial manufacturing projects across the United States. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with pulp and paper experience to support facility upgrades, process improvements, and capital projects.


Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering support for pulp and paper projects
  • Evaluate mill equipment and identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Design and integrate mechanical systems throughout the papermaking process
  • Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Support project execution, including design, procurement, and commissioning
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and project teams
  • Analyze equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements
  • Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of pulp and paper industry experience
  • Experience with paper machine systems, pulping operations, or mill equipment
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems, and utilities
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and P&IDs
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project coordination skills
  • Consulting, EPC/EPCm, industrial manufacturing, or construction experience
