Job Description
Title: Mechanical Process Engineer – Pulp & Paper Background
Location: Appleton, WI
Salary: $135,000–$175,000 DOE + Benefits
Overview
Our client is a growing engineering consulting firm supporting industrial manufacturing projects across the United States. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with pulp and paper experience to support facility upgrades, process improvements, and capital projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support for pulp and paper projects
- Evaluate mill equipment and identify performance improvement opportunities
- Design and integrate mechanical systems throughout the papermaking process
- Develop engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Support project execution, including design, procurement, and commissioning
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and project teams
- Analyze equipment performance and recommend reliability improvements
- Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of pulp and paper industry experience
- Experience with paper machine systems, pulping operations, or mill equipment
- Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems, and utilities
- Ability to read engineering drawings and P&IDs
- Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering software
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project coordination skills
- Consulting, EPC/EPCm, industrial manufacturing, or construction experience
