Job Description
Amazon is seeking a Sr Release Manager to lead enterprise-scale software and infrastructure releases across our global technology landscape. You will design and run release calendars, coordinate cross-functional teams, and enforce quality gates to ensure secure, reliable, and low-risk deployments. Partnering with engineering, product, and operations, you’ll drive automation, continuous delivery, and change management best practices. In Amazon’s fast-moving, customer-obsessed culture, you’ll own complex release plans, analyze release metrics, and continuously improve processes to increase speed, stability, and customer impact.
Own and manage enterprise release calendars and schedules across multiple programs and platforms
Coordinate cross-functional release activities with engineering, QA, security, operations, and product teams
Define and enforce release policies, quality gates, and change management controls
Drive automation of build, deployment, and release processes using CI/CD and DevOps practices
Identify, assess, and mitigate release-related risks and dependencies
Lead release readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions, and post-release evaluations
Monitor and report release KPIs, incident trends, and deployment success rates to leadership
Continuously improve release processes to increase deployment frequency and reliability
Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements for releases
Mentor teams on release management best practices and Amazon’s operational excellence standards
