Job Description
Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to support therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care across diverse healthcare settings. In this role, you’ll implement treatment plans, assist with therapeutic exercises, monitor patient progress, and document outcomes in accordance with clinical standards. You’ll collaborate closely with PTs, nurses, and other caregivers to maximize patient mobility, safety, and independence. Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans
Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional mobility training
Monitor and document patient progress, response to treatment, and vital signs as appropriate
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety techniques
Prepare and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies
Collaborate with PTs, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
Adhere to all state, federal, and facility regulations and ethical standards
Support a safe environment by following infection control and patient-handling protocols
Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives
Therapeutic exercise instruction
Gait training and balance interventions
Range of motion and manual therapy techniques (as permitted by state law)
Patient transfer and safe mobility techniques
Clinical documentation in EMR systems
Vital signs monitoring and basic patient assessment
Patient and family education
Infection control and safety protocols
Rehabilitation equipment setup and use
Interdisciplinary care coordination and communication

Graduation from an accredited PTA program
Current CPR/BLS certification
