Release Manager

The Release Management Analyst is responsible for coordinating, planning, and supporting software releases, system updates, and production deployments across enterprise applications and technology environments. This role works closely with development teams, QA, infrastructure, business stakeholders, and vendors to ensure successful implementation of releases while minimizing operational risk and system disruption.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting Agile delivery environments, managing deployment schedules, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with change management and release governance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage application releases, production deployments, patches, and system updates across multiple environments
• Develop and maintain release schedules, deployment calendars, and implementation plans
• Partner with development, QA, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business teams to ensure release readiness
• Facilitate release planning meetings, change management reviews, and deployment communications
• Monitor release progress and resolve scheduling conflicts, dependencies, and deployment risks
• Validate production readiness activities including testing, approvals, rollback planning, and documentation
• Support incident resolution and post-release validation activities
• Maintain release management documentation, reporting, and audit records
• Ensure adherence to SDLC, change management, compliance, and governance standards
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in release management, change management, project coordination, or software delivery environments
• Experience supporting Agile and/or Scrum teams
• Familiarity with SDLC, ITIL, and change management processes
• Experience with release management and project tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple releases and competing priorities in fast-paced environments
• Experience within banking, financial services, or credit union environments preferred

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Experience coordinating enterprise application or cloud-based releases
• Understanding of risk management and production support processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
