Remote Construction Project Director

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Project Director for a fully remote position. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader who can oversee large-scale construction projects from conception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder communication across multiple projects. The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of all phases of the construction lifecycle, including pre-construction, construction, and post-construction activities. You will manage project teams, including site managers, engineers, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment. Key responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and overseeing procurement processes. You will also be tasked with ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards. This remote role requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage complex schedules, and proficiency in project management software. Strong leadership capabilities, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure are essential. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is required. An MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus. A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a significant portion in director-level roles overseeing complex, multi-million dollar projects, is mandatory. Proven success in delivering projects in various sectors (e.g., commercial, industrial, residential) is highly valued. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical for effectively managing client relationships and internal teams from a distance. Experience with virtual collaboration tools and remote team management is a must.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the strategic planning and execution of multiple construction projects.
  • Manage project lifecycles from initiation to closeout.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality specifications.
  • Lead and mentor project management teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of construction project management experience, including director-level roles.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects.
  • Expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and remote collaboration tools.
