Senior Process Improvement Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Process Improvement Engineer to drive efficiency and optimize operations within their industrial manufacturing facilities. This role will focus on identifying bottlenecks, streamlining workflows, and implementing lean manufacturing principles across various production lines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial engineering methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and Six Sigma or Lean certifications. You will be responsible for analyzing current production processes, collecting and interpreting data, and developing data-driven solutions to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Key responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams in continuous improvement initiatives, designing and implementing new process layouts, and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs). You will also play a crucial role in evaluating new technologies and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities. This hybrid position requires a combination of on-site analysis and data-driven strategic planning, offering a balance between hands-on problem-solving and strategic oversight. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent project management skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to influence change across the organization. - Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban).
- Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and variability.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Conduct time studies and motion studies to optimize workflow and reduce cycle times.
- Design and optimize plant layouts and material flow.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and automation solutions.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for process performance.
- Train and mentor production staff and other engineers on process improvement techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or manufacturing operations.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification required; Master Black Belt preferred.
- Proficiency in process mapping tools, statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab), and simulation software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, production planning, and supply chain principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Experience in a hybrid work environment, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
- Knowledge of automation and Industry 4.0 concepts is a plus.
