Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Process Improvement

Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer renowned for its innovative products and commitment to quality, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvement initiatives. This role is critical in optimizing production efficiency, enhancing product quality, and reducing manufacturing costs. You will be responsible for analyzing current manufacturing processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing solutions using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Expertise in automation, quality control, and new product introduction is highly valued. This position operates on a hybrid model, blending remote analytical work with essential on-site engagement on the factory floor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production throughput, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma projects focused on waste reduction, quality enhancement, and process standardization.
  • Design, evaluate, and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality assurance, and production teams to ensure seamless new product introductions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior manufacturing engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards within the manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering with a focus on process improvement.
  • Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, automation, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong project management and communication abilities.
  • Experience working in a hybrid role, balancing remote analysis with on-site manufacturing floor interaction.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is advantageous.
This hybrid role requires candidates to be based in or near Las Vegas, Nevada, US , involving a combination of remote data analysis and on-site process optimization work.
