Job Description

Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer to join their team in Huntsville, Alabama, US . This role is critical for enhancing production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness across various manufacturing lines. You will work closely with production staff, quality control, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for optimization and implement sustainable process improvements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of manufacturing principles and a passion for driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to optimize production flow and reduce waste.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistent and high-quality production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to introduce new processes or modify existing ones for improved performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, and cost, and report on trends.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new equipment or technology to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company quality policies.
  • Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Support quality assurance efforts by ensuring processes meet stringent quality standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and experience applying them in a production setting.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret production data.
  • Experience with process documentation and the development of SOPs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and control systems is desirable.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and addressing production challenges.
