Field Service Engineer - Remote

Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join their growing technical team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US while providing essential on-site support to customers in various locations. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex industrial equipment. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform installations, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on specialized machinery and equipment at customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- Conduct thorough equipment inspections and identify potential problems before they occur.
- Provide on-site technical training and support to customer personnel.
- Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions, using company-provided systems.
- Respond to service calls and manage your schedule effectively to meet customer needs and response time commitments.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to provide feedback on equipment performance and suggest improvements.
- Maintain a comprehensive inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring readiness for service calls.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines during on-site visits.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot issues remotely when possible, guiding customers through self-service solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in a field service or technical support role, preferably with industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and HMI interfaces is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) to customer locations as needed.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
