Senior Field Service Engineer (Remote)

Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Field Service Engineer to join their global support team. This role is primarily remote, allowing you to work from home and travel to customer sites as needed for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex machinery. You will be the primary technical point of contact for customers, providing expert-level support to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime. Key responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software issues, performing preventative maintenance, conducting customer training on equipment operation and maintenance, and documenting all service activities accurately. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and manage their time effectively. You will collaborate closely with the engineering and product development teams to provide feedback on product performance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience. A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer, preferably supporting complex industrial machinery, is required. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing sophisticated electro-mechanical systems, reading complex schematics, and utilizing diagnostic tools is mandatory. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, as you will be interacting directly with clients on-site. The ability to travel frequently (up to 50%) and maintain a flexible work schedule is necessary. Experience with PLCs, automation systems, and advanced troubleshooting techniques is highly desirable.
