Remote Senior Field Service Engineer - Industrial Automation

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Remote Senior Field Service Engineer with expertise in Industrial Automation systems. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your technical skills from anywhere in the US, with occasional travel required for critical on-site interventions or specialized training. You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for complex industrial automation equipment and control systems. This includes diagnosing hardware and software issues, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring optimal system performance. The role demands a deep understanding of PLC programming, HMI development, robotic systems, and SCADA architecture. You will work closely with customers to understand their operational needs, provide remote assistance, guide them through maintenance procedures, and deliver training sessions. Proactive system monitoring and preventative maintenance recommendations are key components of this role. The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical personnel remotely, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with remote diagnostic tools and virtual collaboration platforms is essential. This position requires a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation field service, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges independently. You must be comfortable working independently and managing your schedule effectively in a remote environment. Travel may be required up to 20% of the time for on-site support, installations, or project commissioning.
