Remote Senior Field Service Engineer - Robotics Automation

Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Field Service Engineer specializing in Robotics Automation. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US, with travel required to client sites for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of advanced robotic systems used in various industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, coupled with extensive experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and robot maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site installation, configuration, and commissioning of robotic systems and automation equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on robotic hardware and software to minimize downtime and ensure peak performance.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of robotic systems.
  • Develop and maintain detailed service reports, documentation, and customer feedback logs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to provide feedback for product improvement.
  • Stay current with advancements in robotics, automation technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and order necessary components for repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company procedures during all on-site activities.
  • Develop and deliver remote technical assistance and guidance to clients.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency support.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in field service, with a specialization in industrial robotics and automation.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex electromechanical systems.
  • Strong understanding of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and industrial control systems.
  • Experience with various robot brands (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA) and their programming software.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients at all levels.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) to client sites across the US.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
