Senior Process Engineer - Remote Operations

Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Process Engineer to join their dynamic manufacturing team. This is a fully remote, permanent position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States. You will play a crucial role in optimizing production processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Your expertise will be vital in driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring that our manufacturing operations meet the highest industry standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for optimization.
  • Develop and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Design, test, and validate new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Operations, to ensure seamless process integration and product development.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and production staff.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, yield, and waste reduction.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in manufacturing engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Manage process engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and achieving measurable results.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
  • Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing technologies and equipment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
