Our client, a leader in the energy sector, is seeking an exceptional Principal Reservoir Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, offering a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to cutting-edge projects without geographical constraints. As a Principal Reservoir Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing oil and gas reserves, optimizing production strategies, and conducting advanced reservoir characterization and simulation studies. Your deep technical expertise will be critical in forecasting reservoir performance, assessing development risks, and recommending strategies for maximum economic recovery. You will lead complex reservoir studies, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers. This role demands a thorough understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid flow in porous media, and various recovery techniques, including enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Proficiency in industry-standard reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Petrel RE) and strong analytical skills are essential. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership qualities, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to influence decision-making at senior levels. This position is crucial for driving strategic decisions related to reservoir development and asset management. The role is based operationally out of Austin, Texas, US , but is structured as a fully remote position, allowing you to work from any location within the US.

- Conduct advanced reservoir characterization, performance analysis, and forecasting.
- Develop and manage integrated reservoir models using industry-standard simulation software.
- Evaluate and recommend optimal development plans and production strategies.
- Assess economic viability and risks associated with reservoir development projects.
- Perform decline curve analysis and material balance calculations.
- Identify opportunities for incremental production and reserve growth.
- Lead and mentor junior reservoir engineers and technical staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
- Develop and present technical reports and recommendations to management.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in reservoir engineering.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG, Petrel RE).
- Strong understanding of reservoir physics, fluid flow, and recovery mechanisms.
- Proven experience in reserve estimation (SEC and PRMS standards).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote setting.
