Our client, a dynamic leader in the sports technology and analytics space, is seeking an experienced and innovative Remote Sports Analytics Manager. This is a fully remote position that allows you to apply your passion for sports and data to drive strategic decision-making from anywhere. You will lead a team of analysts in leveraging advanced statistical methods and data visualization to uncover insights that enhance team performance, fan engagement, and business operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of sports analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Develop and implement sophisticated analytical models to extract meaningful insights from diverse sports datasets (e.g., player performance, game data, fan behavior, market trends).
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for coaches, front office staff, and business stakeholders.
  • Design and build compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate insights effectively.
  • Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish benchmarks for success.
  • Oversee data collection, cleaning, and validation processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to integrate analytical capabilities into client platforms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in sports analytics, data science, and machine learning.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables for analytical initiatives.
  • Present findings and strategic insights to senior leadership and external clients.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the analytics department.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Sports Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in sports analytics, with at least 2 years in a management or lead role.
  • Proven experience in developing and applying statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data analysis, such as Python or R.
  • Strong understanding of sports rules, strategies, and performance metrics across various disciplines.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote work environment, demonstrating self-discipline and strong organizational skills.
