Automotive Performance Engineer (Remote)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Automotive Performance Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge projects within the automotive industry. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to our ambitious goals. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of vehicle dynamics, powertrain systems, and data acquisition/analysis, with a passion for optimizing automotive performance. You will be responsible for designing, testing, and validating performance improvements, working collaboratively with remote engineering teams. This role demands a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive complex engineering tasks to completion in a virtual environment.

- Design, develop, and test automotive components and systems to enhance performance, efficiency, and drivability.
- Conduct extensive data acquisition and analysis from vehicle testing, simulations, and dyno runs.
- Develop and implement simulation models to predict system behavior and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design, manufacturing, software) to integrate performance improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues encountered during development and testing.
- Create detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations on testing results and findings.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive technology, performance tuning, and testing methodologies.
- Participate in virtual design reviews and contribute expert technical opinions.
- Ensure all designs and implementations comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for assigned performance engineering tasks.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive performance engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience with vehicle dynamics, powertrain optimization, and chassis tuning.
- Proficiency in data acquisition systems, analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink), and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of internal combustion engines, electric powertrains, and hybrid systems.
- Experience with CFD and FEA simulation tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing tasks and projects independently.
