Remote Field Service Technician - Installation & Maintenance

Our client, a nationwide leader in specialized equipment manufacturing and deployment, is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Remote Field Service Technician. This position offers the unique advantage of being fully remote, allowing you to manage your service calls and administrative tasks from your home office. Your primary responsibilities will involve traveling to various client sites across your designated region for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex industrial machinery. You will be the face of our client on-site, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to customer locations to perform scheduled maintenance, preventative servicing, and emergency repairs on specialized equipment.
  • Install, configure, and test new equipment according to technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Perform necessary repairs, replacements, and adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Provide on-site technical support and training to customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Complete detailed service reports, including documenting work performed, parts used, and time spent, using our client's digital reporting system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and manage an inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during site visits and while operating company equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with the remote support team, management, and customers to provide timely updates and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling additional services or parts to customers.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or technical degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel extensively within your assigned territory (up to 75% of the time).
  • Comfortable working independently and managing your own schedule.
  • Proficiency with mobile devices and digital reporting tools is essential.
