Lead Electrical Design Engineer (Remote)
Job Description
Our client is seeking an exceptional Lead Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead innovative projects from the comfort of their home office. This is a fully remote position, offering unparalleled flexibility while demanding a high level of autonomy and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of electrical systems design, circuit analysis, and PCB layout.
In this remote role, you will be instrumental in the design and development of complex electrical systems, from conceptualization through to production. Your responsibilities will include schematic capture, component selection, performing rigorous circuit simulations, and guiding PCB layout engineers. You will conduct design reviews, develop test plans, and oversee the debugging and validation of prototypes. Effective communication and collaboration with remote hardware and software teams, as well as project managers, will be paramount. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required, along with at least 8 years of progressive experience in electrical hardware design. Demonstrated expertise in analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and microcontrollers is essential. Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence, OrCAD) is a must. Experience with embedded systems and firmware development is a significant advantage. You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical for success in this distributed team environment. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a remote-first culture and is passionate about delivering high-quality electrical designs.
