Remote Production Engineer
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Remote Production Engineer to optimize and manage manufacturing processes from a remote location. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to apply your expertise in enhancing efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in production environments. You will be responsible for analyzing production data, identifying bottlenecks, implementing process improvements, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, process engineering, and a keen ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
- Develop and implement process optimization strategies using lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Monitor production performance metrics and generate reports on key indicators.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste.
- Collaborate with on-site production teams, quality control, and maintenance departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new production lines or modifications to existing ones.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies or equipment to enhance production capabilities.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production deviations and implement preventative measures.
- Manage and track the implementation of improvement projects remotely.
- Train and support on-site personnel on new processes or equipment as needed, via virtual means.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in production engineering, process improvement, or manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate remotely.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Experience in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is desirable.
