A critically acclaimed video game studio is seeking an exceptional Lead Audio Engineer to join their innovative, fully remote team. This role is responsible for defining and implementing the audio direction for upcoming AAA titles. You will lead a team of talented sound designers and audio programmers, ensuring the highest quality sound implementation from concept to final release. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of audio technologies, game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity), and digital audio workstations (DAWs). Responsibilities include designing and implementing complex audio systems, creating immersive soundscapes, and managing the audio asset pipeline. You will collaborate closely with game designers, narrative teams, and composers to achieve a cohesive and impactful audio experience. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for guiding the audio team and interfacing with other departments. Experience with middleware solutions like Wwise or FMOD is a must. A portfolio showcasing significant contributions to shipped video games is required. Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience, is necessary. A minimum of 7 years of experience in game audio development, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role, is expected.
