Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing logistics provider, is seeking an experienced Senior Logistics and Fleet Manager to lead their operational strategy in a fully remote capacity. This crucial role will oversee the efficient management of our transportation fleet, optimizing routes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving cost-effectiveness. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative logistics solutions, managing carrier relationships, and utilizing technology to enhance visibility and performance across the supply chain. This position requires a strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS), fleet maintenance, driver management, and regulatory requirements within the trucking industry. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of services and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic plans for fleet operations to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Oversee all aspects of fleet management, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and disposal.
- Manage and optimize routing and scheduling to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, FMCSA).
- Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party carriers and service providers.
- Implement and leverage Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics coordinators and dispatchers.
- Foster a safety-first culture and ensure adherence to all safety protocols.
- Respond to and resolve operational issues and disruptions in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and fleet management.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale transportation fleets.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and fleet management software.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic operational plans.
- Experience working effectively in a remote team environment.
- Familiarity with different types of commercial vehicles and their maintenance requirements.
