Our client, a rapidly expanding logistics and transportation provider, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Logistics Fleet Operations Manager to join their fully remote team. This critical role oversees the efficient and cost-effective management of the company's transportation fleet, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal route planning. You will be responsible for coordinating drivers, managing dispatch operations, monitoring vehicle maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations. The ideal candidate has a comprehensive understanding of fleet management software, route optimization tools, and DOT regulations. You will work closely with dispatchers, drivers, and clients to resolve logistical challenges and maintain high service levels. Strong analytical skills are required to track fleet performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to reduce operational costs and enhance efficiency. As a fully remote position, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US, coordinating operations through advanced communication and management platforms. Qualifications:
- Manage and optimize daily fleet operations, including dispatching, scheduling, and routing.
- Oversee a team of drivers and dispatchers, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, and vehicle utilization.
- Implement strategies to reduce operational costs, including fuel consumption and maintenance expenses.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations (e.g., DOT hours of service).
- Manage vehicle maintenance programs to ensure fleet reliability and safety.
- Utilize fleet management software and telematics systems to track assets and monitor operations.
- Respond to and resolve operational issues and customer inquiries promptly.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to meet client needs and delivery commitments.
- Develop and implement training programs for drivers and dispatch personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, or transportation operations.
- Proven experience managing a team of drivers and dispatchers.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, including DOT requirements.
- Proficiency with fleet management software, telematics systems, and route optimization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a remote team.
