Remote Logistics and Fleet Operations Manager

Our client, a leading logistics and transportation company, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Remote Logistics and Fleet Operations Manager. This fully remote role allows you to manage and optimize our fleet operations and supply chain activities from anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods, leveraging technology and strategic planning to meet customer demands and operational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily fleet operations, including dispatching, routing, and scheduling of drivers and vehicles.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance on-time delivery performance.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and vendors.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet management software to monitor operations and track assets.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage fuel purchasing, maintenance scheduling, and vehicle acquisition/disposal processes.
• Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential disruptions and emergencies.
• Train and support dispatchers, drivers, and other operational staff.
• Contribute to the development of departmental budgets and manage operational expenditures.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance logistics and fleet management capabilities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, fleet management, or transportation operations.
• Proven experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet management software.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, HOS rules, and safety best practices in the transportation industry.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a remote work environment.
• Experience in optimizing routes and improving fuel efficiency is highly desirable.
