Remote Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Process Optimization

Job Description

Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking an experienced and innovative Remote Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive process optimization and efficiency improvements across their global operations. This role is critical for enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest quality standards in production. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, lean methodologies, Six Sigma, and advanced process control techniques. You will be responsible for analyzing existing manufacturing processes, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement, and implementing data-driven solutions. This is a fully remote position, requiring a proactive approach, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a virtual environment.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing lean manufacturing strategies, such as Kaizen events, 5S, and value stream mapping, to streamline operations. You will utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical tools to monitor and improve production output and product quality. This role involves collaborating with production teams, R&D, and quality assurance to troubleshoot manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will also be involved in the design and implementation of new manufacturing processes, equipment upgrades, and automation solutions. Evaluating new technologies and recommending their adoption to enhance manufacturing capabilities will be a key part of the job. Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), training production personnel on best practices, and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations are also crucial. The ability to manage multiple projects, interpret complex data, and communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders at all levels is essential for success in this remote role.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, VSM).
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other analytical methods to improve production.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.
  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and automation solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, and Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Train production staff on manufacturing best practices and new processes.
  • Track and report on key manufacturing performance metrics.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on process optimization.
  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and SPC.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage tasks in a remote setting.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
This is a significant opportunity for a results-driven manufacturing engineer to make a substantial impact on production efficiency and innovation within a leading manufacturing company.
