Remote Process Improvement Engineer
Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and innovative Remote Process Improvement Engineer to join their manufacturing and production division. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing existing manufacturing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and developing and implementing solutions to optimize productivity, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. You will leverage your engineering expertise and data analysis skills to drive continuous improvement initiatives across multiple production facilities. This role requires a proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving abilities, and strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a virtual environment.

- Analyze current manufacturing processes using data-driven methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Identify bottlenecks, waste, and areas for improvement in production workflows.
- Design and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Collaborate with production teams, engineers, and management to implement changes and ensure successful adoption.
- Monitor the performance of implemented improvements and make necessary adjustments.
- Utilize process simulation and modeling tools to test and validate potential solutions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and develop corrective actions.
- Train and mentor team members on process improvement methodologies and best practices.
- Prepare reports and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process improvement, manufacturing engineering, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (certification preferred).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, SQL) and process mapping software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others remotely.
- Proven ability to manage projects and implement change effectively.
- Experience with automation and technology in manufacturing is a plus.
- Must be self-disciplined, organized, and able to manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
- Comfortable using collaboration tools and technologies for virtual team interactions.
