Senior Online Curriculum Developer (Remote)

Our client is seeking a creative and experienced Senior Online Curriculum Developer to design, develop, and implement engaging and effective online learning experiences. This is a crucial, fully remote role where you will leverage your expertise in instructional design, educational technology, and adult learning principles to create high-quality digital courses. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of online education for our diverse student population.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop innovative online courses and instructional materials across various subject areas, adhering to best practices in e-learning.
• Translate complex subject matter into clear, concise, and engaging learning content suitable for online delivery.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), faculty, and instructional designers to define learning objectives and outcomes.
• Create a variety of multimedia learning assets, including videos, interactive simulations, quizzes, and assessments.
• Utilize learning management systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, or Blackboard to build and manage course content.
• Implement engaging pedagogical strategies that promote active learning, critical thinking, and knowledge retention in a virtual environment.
• Ensure all developed content is accessible, culturally responsive, and aligned with universal design for learning (UDL) principles.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and recommend appropriate instructional solutions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of online courses through student feedback, assessment data, and performance metrics.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in online education and instructional design.
• Manage multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior curriculum developers and instructional design staff.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in online curriculum design and development, preferably in higher education or corporate training.
• Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theories (e.g., ADDIE, SAM models) and instructional design principles.
• Proficiency with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia software.
• Strong experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects independently.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for conveying complex ideas effectively.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in developing accessible (WCAG compliant) and engaging online content.
• Portfolio showcasing successful online course designs is required.
