This fully remote role is perfect for a data-driven individual passionate about sports, with extensive experience in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and performance analysis. You will be instrumental in leveraging data to enhance player performance, game strategy, and fan engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytical models to evaluate player performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
• Design and execute analyses using large datasets related to player statistics, game data, scouting reports, and physiological metrics.
• Collaborate closely with coaches, general managers, and other performance staff to translate analytical insights into actionable strategies.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) for various stakeholders.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in sports analytics, data science, and relevant technologies.
• Identify new opportunities for data collection and analysis to improve team performance and understanding.
• Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts, fostering a collaborative and data-driven team culture.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data used for analysis.
• Contribute to the development of predictive models for player recruitment, injury risk assessment, and game outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Sports Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in sports analytics, performance analysis, or a related data science role, preferably within a professional sports environment.
• Proven expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, dplyr).
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and database querying (SQL).
• Strong understanding of various sports and the metrics used to evaluate performance.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex insights effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
• Experience with sports-specific data platforms or APIs is a plus.
