Our client, a dynamic and growing hospitality group, is seeking an experienced and creative Executive Sous Chef to serve as a Remote Culinary Consultant. This unique, fully remote position allows you to leverage your extensive culinary expertise to shape and elevate our dining experiences without being tied to a physical kitchen. You will play a critical role in menu development, recipe standardization, quality control, and culinary training programs, all from the comfort of your own home. This role requires a blend of culinary artistry, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills to effectively guide our teams across various locations. You will be responsible for ensuring consistency, innovation, and adherence to the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative and appealing menu items, considering seasonal availability, cost-effectiveness, and customer trends.
  • Create detailed recipes and plating guides to ensure consistency across all units.
  • Conduct remote culinary training sessions for kitchen staff, focusing on techniques, flavor profiles, and presentation.
  • Provide expert feedback and guidance on food preparation, cooking methods, and quality control.
  • Collaborate with the culinary director on food cost management and inventory strategies.
  • Research and recommend new ingredients, equipment, and culinary trends.
  • Develop and implement sanitation and food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Taste and evaluate dishes, offering constructive criticism and solutions for improvement.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process for culinary personnel.
  • Maintain a high level of creativity and passion for food, inspiring culinary excellence.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in high-volume kitchens, with at least 2 years in a Sous Chef or Executive Chef role.
  • Exceptional understanding of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and international cuisines.
  • Proficiency in recipe development, costing, and yield analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (e.g., ServSafe certification).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and influence remote teams.
  • Proficiency with virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack) and basic computer skills.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement in the culinary arts.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous menu creations and culinary projects is highly desirable.
