Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (Remote)

Job Description

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join their progressive team, operating entirely remotely. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety across the organization, regardless of physical location. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive EHS programs. This position requires a deep understanding of EHS best practices, risk assessment, hazard control, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with various departments to identify potential hazards, implement preventative measures, and conduct training sessions to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, whether they are working from home or on client sites. Responsibilities include:

- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures in line with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential safety risks.
- Investigate incidents and accidents , determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels.
- Maintain EHS records and documentation , including incident reports, training logs, and inspection results.
- Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update policies and procedures accordingly.
- Promote EHS awareness and a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related inquiries and issues.
- Collaborate with management to set EHS goals and objectives.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response plans .

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in EHS management, preferably within a remote or distributed workforce context.
- Professional certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) is highly preferred .
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant EHS standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills .
- Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills .
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting.
- Proficiency in EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
