CT/X-Ray Tech

Coppell, TX full-time ✦ New

Job Description

Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled CT/X-Ray Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, supporting our mission to improve and save lives with compassion and high-quality care. As a CT/X-Ray Tech, you will perform diagnostic computed tomography (CT) and general radiographic examinations for patients of diverse ages and conditions in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to provide timely, accurate imaging that guides critical clinical decisions, while upholding our culture of integrity, compassion, accountability, and collaboration.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for CT and X-ray procedures, ensuring comfort, dignity, and clear communication throughout the exam. You will operate advanced imaging equipment, select appropriate technical factors, and apply radiation safety principles using ALARA standards to minimize exposure for patients, staff, and yourself. You will routinely review imaging orders for appropriateness, verify patient identification, obtain relevant history, and communicate with providers regarding special considerations such as contrast allergies, renal function, or emergent conditions.

The CT/X-Ray Tech will perform exams that may include routine and complex CT scans, trauma studies, contrast-enhanced procedures, and general diagnostic radiography such as chest, extremity, spine, and portable imaging. You may support high-acuity areas such as the Emergency Department, operating room, and intensive care units, responding quickly and calmly in urgent situations. Responsibilities include starting IV lines for contrast administration, monitoring patients for reactions or changes in condition, and escalating concerns promptly to the clinical team. You will ensure images are of diagnostic quality, complete required post-processing and reconstructions, and accurately transfer studies to the PACS system with appropriate labeling and documentation.

Attention to detail and adherence to regulatory and departmental protocols are essential. You will maintain accurate, timely records within the radiology information system and electronic health record, including exam documentation, dose tracking, and incident reporting as needed. The CT/X-Ray Tech participates in ongoing quality assurance and equipment checks, reports malfunctions, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment that aligns with infection prevention standards.

As part of Methodist Health Systems collaborative and inclusive culture, you will work in close partnership with your peers, radiologists, and nursing staff, demonstrating professionalism, effective communication, and empathy in every interaction. You will support new staff and students as needed, share best practices, and contribute to a positive work environment where patient-centered care is the top priority. Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and participate in on-call rotation may be required to support 24/7 patient care needs.

The ideal candidate has strong technical competence in both CT and radiography, a solid understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing clinical priorities. Experience in an acute care hospital or emergency setting is highly valued. Methodist Health System offers competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth, continuing education, and advancement within our radiology and imaging services.

If you are a detail-oriented imaging professional who is committed to patient safety, compassionate care, and high-quality diagnostic imaging, and who thrives in a supportive, team-based environment, we encourage you to apply for the CT/X-Ray Tech role at Methodist Health System.
