Remote Civil Project Engineer
Job Description
Our client, a leading firm in infrastructure development, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Civil Project Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States. You will play a crucial role in the design, planning, and execution of complex civil engineering projects, from conception through completion. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing project timelines and budgets, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage projects independently in a remote setting. You will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, specifications, and reports, conducting site analysis (remotely through provided data and resources), and liaising with clients and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and development of civil engineering projects, including site development, transportation, and infrastructure.
- Preparing detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conducting engineering analyses and calculations to ensure project feasibility and compliance.
- Managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Coordinating with external agencies, consultants, and contractors to facilitate project progress.
- Ensuring all project designs and implementations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Preparing and delivering technical reports and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Mentoring and guiding junior engineering staff on project tasks.
- Troubleshooting and resolving engineering challenges that arise during project execution.
- Staying current with advancements in civil engineering technology and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and project management tools.
- Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Experience with environmental regulations and permitting processes.
