Project Engineer

TITLE: Project Engineer

COMP: $80,000 - $110,000 per year

LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN

Our client is seeking immediate assistance in identifying a candidate for a Project Engineer direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN.

Duties:

• Design electrical control panels and associated systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities
• Develop and modify schematics using AutoCAD Electrical (SolidWorks Electrical experience acceptable)
• Access and review PLC programs to make minor edits and interpret existing code (no full-scale programming required)
• Support a mix of projects, including approximately 80% new builds and 20% retrofit/upgrade work
• Collaborate with architectural and engineering firms, municipalities, and utility providers on project execution
• Serve as a subcontractor partner on projects.
• Manage projects from concept through completion, including budgeting, document review, equipment testing, and commissioning
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and contractors to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met
• Oversee project timelines ranging from 4 weeks to 6 months, depending on scope and complexity

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred); Associate’s degree considered with relevant experience and technical expertise
• 5–7+ years of experience in a similar role within an OEM, systems integrator, or custom equipment environment
• Working knowledge of PLC programming, including the ability to review and interpret existing code
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software
• Demonstrated experience designing industrial control panels
• Familiarity with UL 508A standards; experience working with or supporting a UL 508A-certified panel shop (MTR involvement preferred)
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed
• Valid driver’s license
