Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high‑quality CT imaging procedures, ensure patient safety, and collaborate closely with radiologists and clinical staff. Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating CT equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and adhering to radiation safety standards. Perform high-quality CT imaging exams for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient patients according to established protocols.
Verify patient identity, review physician orders and clinical histories, and ensure appropriate exam selection and indications.
Explain CT procedures to patients and families, addressing questions and reducing anxiety while maintaining patient comfort and dignity.
Position patients accurately and safely, selecting appropriate technical factors to produce diagnostic-quality images.
Administer or assist with IV contrast, screen for contraindications, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
Adhere to radiation safety standards, including ALARA principles, proper shielding, and dose optimization techniques.
Use PACS, RIS, and electronic health record systems to document exams, process images, and manage worklists efficiently.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to support timely diagnoses and coordinated patient care.
Participate in quality assurance activities, including image quality review, protocol optimization, and equipment performance checks.
Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns and follow hospital and regulatory guidelines for infection prevention and safety.
Provide support in emergent or high-stress situations, including trauma and code scenarios, while maintaining composure and accuracy.
Assist with training, orienting, or mentoring new CT Technologists or students as requested by leadership.
Work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations as needed to support 24/7 imaging services.
Computed tomography (CT) scanning
Patient positioning and immobilization
Operation of multi-slice CT scanners
IV contrast administration
Radiation safety and ALARA principles
Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology
Use of PACS and RIS systems
Electronic health record documentation
Emergency and trauma imaging protocols
Infection prevention and control
Dose optimization and protocol adjustment
Basic life support (BLS)
Venipuncture skills
Quality assurance and equipment checks
