Job Description

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to drive the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical financial services platforms. In this role, you will design and implement resilient cloud-native architectures, build and refine CI/CD pipelines, and develop robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices. Collaborating closely with software engineering, security, and operations teams, you’ll lead reliability strategy, conduct blameless postmortems, and champion SRE best practices. Lead design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-native infrastructure for financial services platforms.
Define and refine SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets to drive data-informed reliability decisions.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, frequent, and automated deployments.
Implement and improve monitoring, logging, and observability to detect and resolve issues proactively.
Own and optimize incident response processes, including on-call, runbooks, and blameless postmortems.
Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to embed SRE best practices across the organization.
Automate operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code and scripting to reduce toil and improve efficiency.
Drive capacity planning, performance testing, and resilience engineering (e.g., chaos testing).
Mentor and guide engineers on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards relevant to financial services.
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Kubernetes and container orchestration
Linux systems administration
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
Monitoring and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
Scripting/programming (Python, Go, or similar)
Incident management and on-call operations
Security and compliance in financial services
