Job Description

Methodist Health System seeks a CT Technologist to perform high-quality CT imaging exams in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Responsibilities include patient preparation, operating CT equipment, optimizing protocols, and ensuring radiation safety. The CT Technologist collaborates with radiologists and care teams, accurately documents procedures in PACS/RIS, and supports efficient patient flow. Perform CT scans following physician orders and departmental protocols
Prepare and position patients, explaining procedures to ensure comfort and safety
Operate CT scanners and related equipment, adjusting parameters for optimal image quality
Apply ALARA and radiation safety practices for patients and staff
Start and monitor IV contrast injections, observing for adverse reactions
Document exams accurately in PACS/RIS and maintain complete patient records
Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams to support diagnostic decisions
Maintain equipment cleanliness, troubleshoot minor issues, and report service needs
Assist with workflow, scheduling, and prioritizing STAT and emergency cases
Adhere to Methodist Health System policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
CT imaging operation and protocols
Patient positioning and immobilization
Radiation safety and ALARA principles
IV insertion and contrast administration
Cross-sectional anatomy and pathology recognition
PACS/RIS and EMR documentation
Infection control and patient safety practices
Emergency and contrast reaction management
Quality control of images and equipment
Communication and teamwork in acute-care settings

ARRT (R) certification
ARRT (CT) post-primary certification (or obtained within 12–24 months)
Current Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license or eligibility
BLS/CPR certification
ACLS preferred
Completion of accredited radiologic technology or CT program
Experience with hospital PACS/RIS systems
Knowledge of radiation safety regulations
