Job Description

CT Technologist at Methodist Health System. Perform high-quality CT imaging exams, following physician orders and imaging protocols to support accurate diagnosis and treatment. Position and prepare patients, verify histories, obtain consent, and educate patients to ensure comfort and safety. Operate and troubleshoot CT scanners, inject contrast, and monitor for reactions, following radiation safety and infection control standards. Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and ED/ICU teams in a fast-paced hospital environment. Document exams in EMR/PACS, maintain equipment, support quality improvement, and embody our culture of integrity, compassion, and accountability.
Perform CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols
Position, prepare, and monitor patients to ensure safety, comfort, and image quality
Administer or assist with IV contrast and monitor for adverse reactions
Apply ALARA radiation safety principles and follow infection control standards
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and emergency/ICU teams for coordinated care
Document procedures accurately in EMR and PACS/RIS systems
Check, calibrate, and troubleshoot CT equipment; report service needs
Prioritize and manage workflow in a fast-paced hospital environment
Support quality improvement, accreditation, and safety initiatives
Demonstrate integrity, compassion, and accountability in all interactions
CT imaging and cross-sectional anatomy
Operation of CT scanners and injectors
IV insertion and contrast administration
Radiation safety and ALARA principles
Patient positioning and immobilization
Emergency response to contrast reactions
Use of PACS/RIS and EMR systems
Infection prevention and control
Protocol optimization and image quality assessment
Communication with physicians and clinical teams

Current ARRT (R) certification
ARRT (CT) advanced registry or obtained within 12 months
State of Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist License
BLS certification (AHA)
ACLS preferred
1–3 years CT or radiology experience in acute care
Knowledge of radiation safety standards
Experience with PACS/RIS systems
