Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust network security infrastructure, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure access solutions.
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts for potential threats and anomalies, conducting thorough investigations.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Respond to and manage security incidents, leading containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
- Collaborate with IT operations and development teams to ensure security is integrated into all systems and processes.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
- Manage and maintain security hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Contribute to the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Document network security configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior security engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in network security engineering and operations.
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, network segmentation, and firewall management (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet).
- Hands-on experience with IDS/IPS solutions, SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), and endpoint security technologies.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
- Experience with cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and incident response methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote team environment.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CCIE Security, or CISM are highly valued.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage complex security projects in a remote setting.
