Remote Instructional Designer

Job Description

Our client is seeking a creative and experienced Remote Instructional Designer to join their educational technology team. This fully remote position, based out of Indianapolis, Indiana, US , but open to candidates nationwide, focuses on developing engaging and effective e-learning content for diverse audiences. The ideal candidate will be proficient in adult learning theories, curriculum development, and leveraging various authoring tools to create impactful learning experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop engaging, effective, and interactive e-learning courses, workshops, and training materials aligned with learning objectives.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create blended learning solutions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) to build multimedia-rich learning modules.
  • Develop assessment strategies and create assessments to measure learning outcomes.
  • Incorporate engaging elements such as simulations, gamification, videos, and interactive exercises.
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging learning content, including scripts, job aids, and facilitator guides.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and project scope.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in instructional design and e-learning.
  • Review and revise existing training materials to improve their effectiveness and usability.
  • Provide guidance and support to SMEs and stakeholders throughout the design and development process.
  • Ensure all developed content is accessible and compliant with relevant standards.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Multimedia Design, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate).
  • Strong understanding of learning theories, instructional design principles, and curriculum development.
  • Experience in creating multimedia content, including video and audio editing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from conception to completion.
  • Experience working in a remote environment is highly desirable.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of instructional design projects and learning solutions.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.
