Our client, a highly respected civil engineering consultancy, is expanding its reach and is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their fully remote team. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of projects, including commercial buildings, bridges, and infrastructure.
- Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000).
- Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies remotely, coordinating with local consultants or client representatives as needed.
- Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors to ensure compliance with design documents.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Collaborate effectively with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines in a virtual environment.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., ASCE, IBC), and best practices.
- Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and project stakeholders.
- Manage project timelines and budgets for structural engineering scopes of work, working autonomously.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and processes within the remote team.
- Perform structural condition assessments and develop rehabilitation strategies for existing structures.
- Maintain professional development to stay current with advancements in structural engineering and construction technology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required. SE license is a significant plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
- Expertise in relevant building codes and standards.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit) is highly desirable.
