Senior Structural Engineer (Remote)

Our client, a highly respected civil engineering consultancy, is expanding its reach and is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their fully remote team. This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to significant infrastructure and building projects from the comfort of your home office, anywhere in the US. You will be instrumental in the design, analysis, and oversight of structural systems, ensuring safety, integrity, and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of projects, including commercial buildings, bridges, and infrastructure.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000).
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies remotely, coordinating with local consultants or client representatives as needed.
• Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors to ensure compliance with design documents.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, clients, and other engineering disciplines in a virtual environment.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., ASCE, IBC), and best practices.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and project stakeholders.
• Manage project timelines and budgets for structural engineering scopes of work, working autonomously.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and processes within the remote team.
• Perform structural condition assessments and develop rehabilitation strategies for existing structures.
• Maintain professional development to stay current with advancements in structural engineering and construction technology.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required. SE license is a significant plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Expertise in relevant building codes and standards.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for remote collaboration.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
• Experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit) is highly desirable.
