Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and deployment of new automated manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, quality) to integrate automation solutions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including P&IDs, equipment manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Stay abreast of emerging automation technologies and industry best practices.
- Provide remote technical support and training to manufacturing sites as needed.
- Manage automation projects from conception through to successful implementation, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Optimize existing automated systems for improved performance, reliability, and safety.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement culture within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in production engineering, with a strong focus on automation.
- Proven experience with PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and system layout.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, robotics, and material handling systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
- Ability to travel occasionally for critical on-site support or project kickoff meetings if required (less than 10%).
