Warehouse Operations Manager (Remote)

Job Description

Our client, a leading e-commerce fulfillment provider, is seeking an experienced and driven Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee and optimize their operations in a fully remote capacity. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective management of inventory, order fulfillment, and shipping processes. As a remote-first position, you will leverage technology and communication tools to lead a distributed team and drive operational excellence across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, supply chain management, and a proven ability to manage complex warehouse operations from a distance.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels within the warehouse network.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping, ensuring adherence to established procedures and KPIs.
  • Manage and optimize inventory control systems to ensure accuracy, minimize discrepancies, and reduce stockouts.
  • Lead and motivate a geographically dispersed team of warehouse staff and supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies to monitor, analyze, and improve operational performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, customer service, logistics) and external partners to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Drive initiatives for process improvement, lean methodologies, and operational excellence.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement, presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders, meeting or exceeding service level agreements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse management or operations, with a significant portion in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing complex warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping.
  • Strong understanding of WMS, TMS, and other supply chain technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage remote teams effectively.
  • Excellent knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage operational budgets.
  • Experience with e-commerce fulfillment is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to physical warehouse locations as needed.
