Senior Warehouse Operations Manager (Remote)

Our client is a leading innovator in the logistics and supply chain sector, offering a fully remote Senior Warehouse Operations Manager position. This role is pivotal in optimizing and overseeing warehouse operations across various strategic locations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness without the need for physical presence at any single site. You will leverage technology and collaborate extensively with on-site teams, third-party logistics providers, and cross-functional departments to achieve operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), lean methodologies, and supply chain best practices. This remote-first role demands exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and influence teams virtually.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor strategic operational plans for multiple warehouse facilities to ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping, to maximize efficiency and minimize errors.
• Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
• Manage and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS), ensuring accurate inventory tracking and optimal space utilization.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, transportation, and customer service departments to ensure seamless supply chain integration.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, forecasting expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead and mentor remote and on-site operations teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
• Conduct regular performance analysis, generate reports, and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
• Effectively manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, negotiating contracts and monitoring service level agreements.
• Resolve operational issues and challenges promptly and effectively through remote oversight and support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations management, with a significant portion in a remote or multi-site oversight capacity.
• Proven experience with various Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing/operations principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams remotely.
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and performance metric tracking.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control operational costs.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Must be adept at using virtual collaboration tools and technologies.
• Experience in managing third-party logistics (3PL) relationships is a plus.
• Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, remote work environment.
