Our client, a distinguished higher education institution, is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Professor specializing in Higher Education Pedagogy. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the academic community in Colorado Springs, Colorado . The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate-level courses focused on effective teaching methodologies, curriculum design, student assessment, and the broader theoretical frameworks underpinning college-level instruction. You will facilitate engaging classroom discussions, mentor students, and contribute to the intellectual vibrancy of the department. Responsibilities include developing and delivering course content that is both theoretically sound and practically applicable to aspiring educators and administrators. You will be expected to assess student learning through various methods, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate academic records. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of current research and best practices in higher education, including topics such as inclusive pedagogy, educational technology, learning theories, and faculty development. A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a supportive and challenging learning environment are essential. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. You should be adept at facilitating critical thinking and encouraging active participation. While this is an adjunct position, the opportunity exists to engage in departmental committees and contribute to curriculum review processes. A terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a closely related field is required. Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college or university level, preferably at the graduate level, is essential. Evidence of expertise in higher education pedagogy, learning theory, and curriculum development is necessary. Strong presentation and facilitation skills are a must. A track record of scholarly activity, such as publications or conference presentations, is a significant advantage.
